Recognise the signs
Spotting the signs of SCA can significantly improve survival rates. It’s vital to distinguish between cardiac arrest and a heart attack. If someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally, treat it as SCA.
Learn how to Respond
In an SCA situation, every second counts. Your immediate response can save a life. First, call 111, start CPR, and grab an AED if one is nearby. Many people hesitate to use AEDs due to fear of causing harm. But there’s no need to worry! Simply attach the AED pads, power it on, and let the device analyze the heart rhythm. AEDs are designed to deliver a shock only when it’s needed, ensuring safety for everyone involved.
Be Prepared
Consider Investing in an AED: If you don't have an AED, consider investing in one for your company, community, or sports club.
