Online First Aid Course

Our online course allows you to work at your own pace and at your own place.

Heart Saver’s online First Aid courses provide learners with the latest first aid information & techniques needed to take care of yourself & others either in your workplace or at home.

Broken into bite-sized modules, our online first aid course covers all the basics of first aid and providing emergency care.  Each module includes content, images and videos, with a short quiz to test your knowledge at the completion of each module.

For learners that have completed their online first aid course and wish to upgrade to a Basic or Advanced First Aid certification, a further 4-hour ‘classroom’ session is required to assess your practical application of the skills learned.

This means less time spent in the classroom, with in-person attendance limited to only 4 hours when completing a full course and 2 hours when renewing your refresher.

What you'll gain

In our blended course (online & practical assessment), our in-depth lessons and scenario-based activities will give you:

Confidence in being able to handle first aid emergencies

Familiarisation with first aid equipment, techniques, and practical skills

Prerequisites and restrictions:

In order to offer this shorter, first aid recertification opportunity, we must require that you:

Are able to physically demonstrate CPR on the floor in a simulated emergency scenario

  • Bleeding, burns, shocks and poisoning
  • Heart attacks and chest pains
  • Strokes & Seizures
  • Fractures and dislocations
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
  • Asthma & Diabetes
Recognise and provide resuscitation including:
  • Scene and hazard management
  • Patient positioning and assessment
  • CPR
  • Defibrillator (AED) use
  • Choking
  • General care
